Meet My Enemy

Pure Evil

Pure Evil

You see that picture above, that is a picture of my arch nemesis, the stupid wasp. I Hate Hate Hate these bees. A couple weeks ago i was so excited because we went out and bought my little ones a pool, not a huge pool but something they could go out and play and splash around in. But we have only been able to use it once because of the stupid bees, my house is surrounded by them and we have tried everything to get rid of em. I have tried bee spray, i tried putting a bottle filled with sugar water outside so they would drowned in it, i even tried gasoline, but nothing has worked. They are up inside the roof of my carport, inside the walls of the out building, and inside the wooden trim of our house. I never was bothered by them when i was younger, but after having about 4 of em go down the back of my shirt while i was mowing a few years ago, now i hate them. So do yawl have any advice on how to get rid of these things, cause they are so bad that i cant even take the kids outside to play now.

They are super bad at my house too. Up under the railing of both porches there is a nest every few inches, AND all around the eaves of my house. Let me know if you come up with a good way to get rid of them

I had a can of that stuff that is supposed to spray 20 ft +. It only sprayed about 3 ft and then quit before I even got 2 of them sprayed. THAT is some bullshit!

  2. I hate them too, have allergy for their poison.
You can try to spray poison in there house late evening or use cement and close late evening where all are home. Good luck šŸ™‚

    • I am not allergic, I just dont like getting stung, but more than that I dont want the kids to get stung. And we tried using caulking.

  5. My husband has this hornet spray that he uses to kill the wasps in our yard, it works pretty good, but he has to be careful because you spray them directly then they start to fly before they die, once they are all sprayed and gone then he gets rid of the nest. Its called Hot shot wasp and hornet killer.

    • Im not sure if we have tried that or not, but we cant remove their nests they are actually in the roof, we would have to take the roof off to find it.

  6. HATE wasps! I’ve been stung so many times because they nest in my roses and get me when I’m trimming them. We use the hot shot, the sugar water traps and knock down every nest we can find. The worse areas are under stairs, soffets (I don’t know how to spell that!) and even in the blasted bbq grill.
I have a gardening book…I’ll see if I can find anything (believe it or not, wasps are considered beneficial insects because they eat plant eating bugs…I like lady bugs better!)

    • Yeah I know they are beneficial to keep other bugs away, but seven dust works to and that cant sting me lol. I have never had even one bee in my sugar water traps, they just dont seem interested in the slightest, I must be doing something wrong.

      • Your bees don’t have a sweet tooth! I can’t get rid of them either. That said, I was able to get rid of the two fat moles wrecking the garden!!

      • Ohh our dog will try to catch em, what he actually does is chase it up under our house and cause ut to spray. That happened twice last summer. Talk about taking your breath away.

  7. Have you called in the pest removers? I saw it on one of those Lifetime channels and their problem was very similar to yours. It takes knowledge of what to do and I’m not sure store bought remedies are going to cut it from what you described. They need to get at the nest wherever it is and kill the queen, not the generals.

      • Damn! That seemed to do the trick for them! Shame. How about the cheapo version? Someone who is quite brave would have to do it.
An all in one protective suit and hoodie/ helmet affair which you can buy fairly cheaply from a DIY store and make adjustments i.e no gaps for wasps to fly up. Thick garden gloves. Then someone goes to find the nest?
I would look online as to how to damage it for good once found.

  9. HATE BEES and WASPS!!! Don’t laugh….it works I swear: Take a super soaker and fill it with soapy water. Spray them with it and it kills them. Since the super soaker sprays like 40 feet you can use it to destroy the nests too!! Here is how it works…bees/wasps have an exoskeleton and a thin membrane running over it that keeps all of the necessary juices inside the bug. The Dawn in the super soaker strips away this membrane and the little buggers basically bleed to death. It’s super effective! I use mine all the time : )

  10. Man, I share your pain here. I remember watching my dad get stung multiple times in the hand by a wasp. I don’t mind bees that much, but wasps seem evil.
